About Us

Welcome to Composer Goldens, breeders of European Cream style Golden Retrievers! We use the highest breeding standards and the latest genetic testing to ensure that your dog remains healthy and energetic into old age.

Our dogs spend their time doing what goldens love: loafing around the house on a lazy day, playing chase and keepaway with doggy toys, and walking around town with us. We train them regularly, providing even our earliest homed puppies (8 weeks) with a great foundation for training and bonding with their families!

But who are we?

Ah, right! We're Byrel and Stephanie Mitchell. We both grew up out in the country in the Midwest. There, we got our first experience raising and training animals: Byrel focused on chickens, while Stephanie trained dogs, horses and sheep. We left our families' farms for college, and eventually met and got married. Today, Byrel develops software and Stephanie saves lives as a respiratory therapist.

All these experiences are useful in training and raising goldens. We use both classical breeding standards (such as Pennhip analysis and Mobility and Personality assessment) and the latest scientific tools to breed the best goldens money can buy.
