Tara is a lovely and feminine daughter of sweet Brooke and the very handsome Timber.

Tara was our pick out of our first health-certified litter

We held back and health-tested every lovely girl in our last litter from Brooke. Nine beautiful girls and their brother were tested with preliminary elbows, eyes, hearts, PennHIP, and Embark for genetic disorders.

Tara's siblings PennHIP DI’s range from Wesley at 0.26 to Sadie at 0.54!

All of her siblings are in the top 50% of Golden Retrievers. Because of their excellent temperaments, most of them went to homes where they work as a service or therapy dog. They are making peoples lives better through their genetics, personalities, and wonderful temperaments.

Tara will never have to deal with hip arthritis (even in old age) due to her great DI (0.29). We are thrilled to match her with Bach who has a DI of 0.30. Like Tara, he will not have hip dysplasia or arthritis. Their puppies will likely have hips that average around the same as their parents. Brooke’s puppies averaged the same as her and her mate, and varied by around +/- 0.14; if Tara’s puppies have a similar range her WORST puppies will still be in the top 15% of Goldens, and her best puppies will be competing for the best Golden Retriever hips ever recorded. They will all be far less likely to have hip arthritis than their fellow Goldens, and can be active and healthy even in the later years of their life. The cost of surgery to fix hip osteoarthritis is easily $4,000 per hip, and rarely leads to full activity and painlessness. It is entirely worthwhile to find a puppy with excellent hips.

We are currently taking reservations for Tara’s first litter expected in late spring or early summer of 2019. We have several people on our list and have a few more spots available.
